Steps to take a screenshot on Samsung Galaxy J5

  1. Navigate to the screen image that you wish to save. 
  2. Press the Home key - Wake up and the Power key together at the same time. 
  3. This may not work in first try, so try again if you still cannot see anything.
  4. A screen capture sound will occur and the display will fade for a second. 
  5. Pull down the notification area to view a thumbnail of the photo. 

You might need to practice a few times to get it right, but once you have the knack, you'll find it very easy in future.

Where to find saved Screnshots?

You can see your screenshots in the Gallery app, or in Samsung's built-in "My Files" file browser.

If you need to find the screenshots from a command line or through the Android File Transfer tool, they'll be in /pictures/screenshots.
